Heritage

IPH and Brammer Buck & Hickman joined forces in 2017 to create Europe’s number one industrial distribution business, Rubix; however, our shared history dates back to 1830 when Buck & Hickman was founded. Brammer itself dates back to 1920, when Harry Brammer established the company in Leeds to manufacture his trademarked detachable V link belts.

After becoming a public company in 1960, we acquired Bearing Services Ltd in 1969 – the first of many such acquisitions that were strategically planned to help us diversify our expertise. Buck & Hickman joined us in 2011, and most recently we were privatised and became part of the pan-European IPH family in 2017.

Today, we offer virtually everything the modern manufacturing facility needs – and have carved out a deserved reputation as the UK’s leading supplier of industrial products. We couldn’t have done that without our excellent team, and so we place great importance on attracting and retaining the best people. While we place great importance on our heritage and longevity, we know that our ability to stay ahead of the curve – bringing innovative products and services to our customers – is the key to our ongoing success.
